Bristol VC Ladies 1 team makes history at Cup Finals

Bristol Volleyball Club’s Ladies 1 team made their way to Kettering last weekend for Volleyball England’s biggest event of the year – the Cup Finals. Taking part in the NVL Shield final, the team made history for the club by securing a 3-0 win, bringing home Bristol’s first ever national gold medal at this level.

The victory was the perfect ending to what has already been a remarkable season. Having finished top of Division 2 West, earned a promotion to Division 1, and now capped it all off with a gold medal, it’s safe to say it’s been one to remember.

The match itself was a display of teamwork, calm under pressure, and great spirit. Both sides brought energy to the court, but it was Bristol’s consistency and togetherness that helped them edge each set and ultimately take the win.

Beyond the result, the weekend was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate a season full of hard work, resilience and development. The team showed not only strong performances on court, but also great camaraderie off it – full of positivity, support and a few well-earned laughs along the way. And yes, rumour has it, Mauro even smiled.

We couldn’t be prouder of the journey this team has been on, and we’re excited to see what’s next as they head into Division 1.
